PAPERS Work at Powell Lane Arts
Wednesday, June 8, 2022 - 14:23
This exhibition features pieces that involve the use of paper in the creative process -- whether that be a sketch, watercolor, print, etc. on paper, a work in which papers have been integrated into the materiality or a sculpture in which paper has been used within the firing; it can be collages, paper mâché, weaving, the list goes on. Paper is an essential creative tool, and these works make it a central part of their process.

Inspiration from Creative Africa
Tuesday, July 5, 2016 - 20:52

This summer the Philadelphia Museum of Art is featuring art, textiles, design and architecture from Africa. Starting with a loan exhibition from the Penn Museum’s distinguished collection of African materials, the exhibits feature contemporary photography, fashion, textile design, and architecture, as well as traditional textiles and ritual objects. I know almost nothing about Africa, so I learned much about the people and culture of this fascinating continent.
